WHo are you?

Hi! I'm Victoria, I am a stationer, calligrapher and artist who has been in business for eleven years (six of those successfully, as defined by profitability).  My approach is very open, I pull no punches, and appreciate looking at business with a very straight forward approach.
 

Why prep school?

I had the opportunity to teach in a well-received calligraphy summit (The Modern Calligraphy Summit) along with eight other fantastic calligraphers several years ago. It was an amazing experience for both teachers and students, but with the focus mostly on teaching creative skills, there was a lack of instruction in the business side of owning a creative business. Once you've gained your butt-kicking calligraphy skills, how do you know how price it? How much is your time worth? Can you really charge that much as a beginner?

I also noticed the same questions being asked from the stationers point of view as well as other creative markets and industries.

So I decided to teach it. These are all lessons I've had to learn the hard way, and when I was coming up in the industry, the lack of social media made it very difficult to learn from others. So I take a very honest and transparent approach. We launched Prep School in 2016 to fill that hole in the industry, talking very openly about just how difficult it is to price creative work, remove emotions from the equation, value our time, build value in our products so people will pay us for them, and all those good things! 
 

When do the courses start and finish?

Prep school is designed to allow you to design your own curriculum so you can work at your own pace. Every semester we release successive courses to help you move your creative business forward. 

With that in mind, courses are released at the beginning of every Fall or Spring semester, but you can register, start and finish any released course at your own pace. 

How loNg do i have access to the course?

All Prep School courses are available for lifetime access! We understand that life happens and you may not always be in a place to take full advantage of a course when you first sign up. Work through your class on the first day, come back months later for a refresher... either way, all class materials will be here for you. 

In addition, once you register for a course, you'll have access to the private Facebook group and school-wide live streams! 

What if I am unsatisfied with my purchase?

We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us within the first ten days and we will be glad to give you a full refund.
 

I'm not ready to start classes yet, is prep school still valuable to me?

Prep School courses are presented individually and priced affordably because we want all creative business owners have the right to further their businesses no matter what stage of their career they're in. Maybe you don't have hundreds of dollars to drop on a ten class bundle right now, but you probably have enough to invest in an individual pricing course that could help your business get there. Business education is valuable and we fully believe everyone in the industry benefits as we all grow. Cliche or not, a rising tide raises all boats!
